07 / 2009 - Planning of the new depot completed

Everything one wishes for in a coach company, light offices, modern garage areas, coach cleaning facilities with modern technology, or in short – premises which are nice and functioning – we have added all of this to our list of wishes and we are sure that it will be implemented in exactly the same way. If everything turns out as planned, the construction works will commence in the middle of August and surely progress will soon be visible.

05 / 2009 - New location for BerlinMobil

As already mentioned in the last newsletter, we have run out of parking space for buses at our current location, since the urban district has provided the road area in front of our premises with cycle tracks. This triggered an intensive search for a new location which could be successfully completed in October last year. In the 1^st quarter of 2010, BerlinMobil will move to a new location in which everything will be exactly fitted to our requirements and operating procedures. There, we will dispose of a very functional building which will shelter the administration, staff rooms, but also modern garage areas. We will then be moving “closer” together and if you wish to visit us, you will find a very transparent business in which we will make visible everything that is previously necessary in order to make a bus (or van) drive from A to B. I can assure you that this is more than one thinks!

We are nevertheless very much looking forward to it and will surely be able to celebrate our 20 years’ company anniversary, which will take place in 2010, at the new location. I would like to add that we are remaining true to our urban district of Lichtenberg and staying within reach of the city, with a distance of about six kilometres.

04 / 2009 - Smoke detectors in coaches

Due to the accident which recently occurred on the A2, for the new season, we will equip all coaches with subfloor toilets with smoke detectors, in order to be able to react as quickly as possible in the case of a fire.

03 / 2009 - Telematics

Berlin Mobil is one of the first companies in Germany to work with this trendsetting technology.

Already introduced at the beginning of last year, our every-day work life can barely be imagined without the system. Although we are not yet working with all functions, we have already been able to further optimise our corporate procedures. No matter whether for resource planning suiting traffic conditions or searching for spontaneous solutions which are e.g. necessary due to flight delays or short-term change requests by our customers, the system is a real assistance.

As a secondary effect, we are already able to provide our colleagues with useful details on their manner of driving, which is why we have achieved up to 10 percent less fuel consumption in some vehicle categories.

02 / 2009 - Exchange of vehicles in the school traffic fleet

Apart from the exchange of several “old” Mercedes-Sprinter with the current Euro-4 model, we have managed to find two really special Mercedes school buses in France which do not only feature less emission than their predecessors, but provide considerably more capacity than standard public-transit buses with 57 seats, so that there are now also sufficient numbers of seats on swimming pool runs on nearly all tours.

01 / 2009 - New contact in school traffic

Here, there have also been a few changes in human resources: Mr. Rudolph is currently engaged in familiarising Mr. Christian Günzel with the task field of school traffic, in order to subsequently take over fleet management. An important task in this respect is to further optimise the processes in our depot. In Mr. Günzel you will also always find a friendly and competent contact. 11 / 2008 - Support of charter traffic

Many of you have surely been in touch with our new customer support staff for charter traffic. Our nice new colleague Mr. Dennis Gauter has been with us since May and has recently been supported by Mr. Benjamin Hein who joined us directly after completing his university degree of tourism economics.
